Nuffield Health has raised £330m to fund the expansion of its chain of 31 private hospitals and 75 gyms.
Nuffield plans to invest £60m in building a hospital in Manchester, which will be up and running by the end of 2016. This year it acquired nine Virgin Active gyms.
Last year Nuffield's turnover rose 2.5% t to hit £650.2m and the firm is thought to be on course to see it rise for 2014.
Hospitals account for 70% of the group's turnover and it has seen a sharp increase in contracts from the NHS recently.
