The Ninth awarded Michelin Star just 10 months after opening

The Ninth, chef Jun Tanaka’s stunning solo debut, has been awarded a Michelin star exactly ten months after opening its doors.

Published yesterdayin the Great Britain & Ireland Michelin Guide 2016, Tanaka is just one of 18 new one-stars awarded this year – 8 of them in London.

Tanaka (pictured) commented, “It came as a complete surprise to be awarded a Michelin star.

'Since we opened our doors last year, my team and I have worked incredibly hard to cook the best food we can, and to offer all of our guests a relaxed and approachable dining experience, so I’m truly grateful that our efforts have been recognised by Michelin. It’s truly an honour to receive this accolade.”

The Ninth, so called because it is the ninth restaurant Tanaka has worked in, although the very first he has owned, offers neighbourhood dining at its finest.

Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, the menu marries simple yet refined French- Mediterranean sharing plates with casual, friendly service, and an expertly curated and approachable wine list which focuses on small producers and lesser known bottles.
