Black Wolf Brewery secures six-figure whisky beer deal with Lidl

Stirling’s Black Wolf Brewery has clinched a new six-figure contract with Lidl that will see a whisky beer added to the list of products sold under its Belheather range throughout its 92 stores across Scotland.

The new deal over the next 12 months builds on the products already sold under Belheather brand, and Lidl’s support of Scottish suppliers, with yet more to follow later in the year. With the demand for craft beers in Scotland on the rise, Lidl already stocks more than 40 products in its Brewery section in store with 12 of these falling under the local ales section.

Paul McQuade, head of buying for Lidl in Scotland, said, “The local ales in the Lidl Brewery have proved hugely successful since the launch in 2015 and the demand for craft beer in Scotland continues to grow.

“We have worked closely with the Black Wolf Brewery to produce our Belheather Whisky Beer using only the finest Highland Single Malt Whisky, which we hope our customers will enjoy.”

Carlo Valente, director and manager of NPD at Black Wolf Brewery, said, “The brewery is located in the heart of Scotland in clear view of the Ochil Hills where our ingredients are meticulously selected. Hand crafted, the crystal-clear waters, malted barley and hops are watched over at every stage by our Head Brewer.

“The Whisky Beer we’ve created for Lidl is conditioned in vessels infused with the finest Highland Malt Whisky delivering a distinctive taste of caramel, tropical fruits and honey, through to the subtle but familiar finish of toasted barley and vanilla.”
