Zetter Hotel, workspace & restaurants planned for Manchester scheme

Allied London is to submit plans for the redevelopment of London Road Fire Station in Manchester, including a Zetter Hotel, office space and restaurants.

Under the planning application, a new venue and event space called the Fire Bar will be created by excavating space under the fire station, with access from a glass pavilion in the centre of the triangular courtyard.

Alongside its 91 bedrooms, the Zetter Hotel will include a banqueting hall and meeting rooms. Other occupiers are yet to be announced, but London Road’s uses will centre around a spa, workspaces, apartments, hospitality, and retail units.

The developer has been using the grade two-listed former fire station for temporary uses such as food markets, and recently an ice skating rink.
