Black Sheep Brewery enters craft beer market

Yorkshire-based Black Sheep Brewery is set to tap the fast-growing market for craft beer with the launch of three new beers this month.

The new craft beers, Pathmaker, Moose Jaw and Glug M’Glug, will all be available in 330ml bottles as the company looks to win listings with supermarkets.

The bottles have higher ABVs than Black Sheep’s existing offering, and enable the brewery to reach out to a new kind of experimental ‘craft’ drinker, as well as continuing to drive its popular core 500ml bottled brands.

A 5.6% pale ale brewed with Chinook hops, Pathmaker partners the brewery’s recently launched keg offering of the same name.

Moose Jaw is a 5.2% crystal weiss beer with a dry refreshing character, and Glug M’Glug is a 6.2% dark IPA brewed with Cascade hops and dark malts.

Founded by Paul Theakston 20 years later, Black Sheep's approach has weathered the most tumultuous time in British brewing history.

The family firm conducts brewery tours and the site includes a visitor centre with a gift shop, and a large split level bistro and bar.
