Chefs create traditional afternoon tea at Knebworth House

Knebworth House is offering a trio of teatime treats for visitors keen to enjoy a great British tradition.

On 30 April, 23 July and 10 September, the Hertfordshire Tudor stately home and gardens is serving afternoon teas in the barns within its grounds.

The chefs have taken their inspiration from classic menus to create an assortment of finger sandwiches, cakes and scones.

Sandwiches will feature free range egg and watercress, cucumber and mint cream cheese, smoked salmon, lemon and black pepper and honey roasted ham and English mustard.

Scones will be served with homemade jam and clotted cream and tea facies will include raspberry macaroons, fruit éclairs and mini fruit tarts.

Afternoon tea guests will also be able to explore the house’s extensive grounds including its formal gardens.

Booking is essential for the afternoon teas, which will be served at 2.30pm.
