Knebworth House spices up festive menu with tikka

One of England’s most historic houses is spicing up its Christmas celebrations this year by offering tikka, as well as turkey, to partygoers.

Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, has unveiled its Christmas schedule of party nights and lunches.

Along with traditional celebrations, featuring roast turkey, with all the trimmings, they will be staging a series of Christmas Curry Nights, with a special Indian-themed hot buffet.

Open to parties of friends, family members or work colleagues, the Christmas Curry Nights, on Wednesday 6, 13 and 20 December will be held in the venue’s Cobbold Barn.

Diners will be able to choose from a selection of dishes including chicken tikka masala, chickpea, spinach and tomato curry, saffron rice, tarka dhal, naan bread, poppadums and pickles, with a dessert of mango cheesecake.

The party will then last into the night with dancing, a DJ and a late bar.

During December, the Cobbold Barn will also play host to traditional Christmas parties for corporate and social guests.

These will feature a three-course menu of aubergine or smoked salmon cannelloni followed by roast turkey with potato fondant, roasted root vegetables and a red wine jus, Christmas pudding cheesecake and coffee.

Also on the Christmas schedule, on Sunday 3, 10 and 17 December, Santa Claus will be paying pre-Christmas visits to families enjoying lunch at Knebworth Barns and will bring a gift for every child.

And the venue is once again inviting partygoers and private hire party organisers to dine and dance the night away in its spectacular star-clothed marquee.

The Christmas in Central Park party nights will be held throughout the month and feature a three-course meal, table crackers, karaoke and a late bar and disco, while exclusive hire is available from Sunday to Wednesday in December for parties of 250 or more.

“No matter how our visitors want to celebrate – or with whom – they will have a fabulous time, in a unique and memorable setting,” said sales and marketing manager, Jenna Bateman.
