TLG named in best places to work awards list

Thai Leisure Group (TLG), the operator of Thai restaurant brands Thaikhun and Chaophraya, has been recognised as one of the top 120 places to work in the UK by The Best Workplace Awards 2017.

The awards, which have been running for 16 years, publicly recognise organisations that are great employers, brands and businesses. TLG came 23rd in the large business category, finishing ahead of companies such as H&M and KFC.

The highly respected accolade demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting and training its staff so that is can provide exceptional dining experiences across its brands in the UK.

Managing Director, TLG, Ian Leigh said, “Creating a winning culture that breeds enthusiasm and engagement is everything for a business. Happy, well trained and engaged employees, produce excellent service and memorable dining experiences. I’m immensely proud to be recognised by this prestigious report, which shows we’re on the right path and have a bright future.”

A significant contributing factor to the company’s inclusion is its four core values, which are based on Buddhist principles. The first is Ow Jai Sai, which means ‘from the heart.’ The premise is simple – savour the moment, put in everything you can. The other three core values are Samakee, Ha Dao, and Sanook. These mean teamwork and togetherness; five-star service; and fun.

Leigh added, “The principles dictate everything we do, from the kitchen to the boardroom. Having everyone pulling in one direction for the same purpose creates a tight, cohesive team and that translates onto the plate.”

TLG ranked as the 2nd highest hospitality, food and beverage company on the list, ahead of other leading high-street brands, such as TSB and Britvic Soft Drinks.
