Mariage Frères brings Halloween afternoon tea to Covent Garden

A devilish afternoon tea awaits this Halloween at luxury French tea house, Mariage Frères, located in the heart of London’s Covent Garden on King Street.

Available from the 25 October - 6 November, guests can enjoy a limited-edition Halloween afternoon tea in the store’s elegant Salon de Thé.

The Halloween Pâtisserie and Cuisine afternoon tea features a spook-tacular spread of sweet and savoury treats adhering to the brand’s signature Cuisine au Thé, where tea, as a delicate ingredient, spice or flavouring, is used in every dish.

Start with two hauntingly delightful French baby brioches - the Noir includes artisan smoked salmon, Full Moon Party tea and yuzu crème fraiche and turmeric sunflower seeds whilst the Jaune brioche features riviéra ratatouille, tomato sauce with Rouge d’Automne tea and roasted almonds.

Next up is an array of sweet treats – after a warm Parisian Scone accompanied with tea-infused jelly and butter, indulge in a trio of ghoulish amuse-bouches including Mousse au chocolat infused with Earl Grey French Blue tea, a Midnight Magic Millecake and Mariage Frères’ annual special, the Fantome de L’Opera: a ghostly yuzu sponge cake infused with Earl Grey Imperial tea and coated in Italian meringue.

Guests are invited to enjoy a pot of tea with their afternoon tea and, with over 1,000 aromatic varieties available, there’s a brew for all tastes.

Alternatively, for a more indulgent experience, (trick or) treat yourself to one of Mariage Frères’ signature tea-cocktails as guests are given the option to elevate the tea with their signature Champagne & Midnight Magic tea syrup cocktail for an additional £10 per person.

The Halloween Pâtisserie and Cuisine afternoon tea is £45 per person with a Pâtisserie option available for £35 per person sans brioche.
