Unilever announces changes to marketing leadership team

Unilever has announced updates to its leadership team, with Leandro Barreto, currently Chief Marketing Officer of the Beauty & Wellbeing Business Group, taking on an expanded role.

Effective 1 January 2026, Barreto will serve as CMO for both Unilever and the Beauty & Wellbeing division.

Barreto brings 20 years of experience to the role and will lead Unilever’s marketing transformation plan, ensuring alignment between the Beauty & Wellbeing Business Group and the company’s broader ambitions.

Following this appointment, Esi Eggleston Bracey, Unilever’s Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, will step down from her position at the end of January 2026.

Bracey joined Unilever in 2018 to lead the Beauty & Personal Care division and will collaborate with Barreto in January to ensure a seamless transition.

During her tenure as Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, she achieved significant results in driving global demand, the company said.

Fernando Fernandez, Unilever CEO said: “I would like to thank Esi for her significant contribution to Unilever and wish her every success in the next chapter of her career.

“With strong groundwork now in place, I know Leandro will make a big impact in his expanded role as we accelerate desire at scale and turn Unilever into a true marketing and sales machine.”
