St Andrews hotel set for £7m extension


Macdonald Hotels has been given the green light to build a £7m extension to its 19th century St Andrews venue in Fife, Rusacks, with work expected to begin in 2016.

The plans feature 44 new suites which will overlook the 18th green at the Old Course, and will range from 350 to 475 sq ft in size,

The Rusacks expansion also includes a rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace, and the restaurant will seat 145 diners.

Macdonald Hotels, which has owned Rusacks since 2001, operates over 40 luxury hotels acroos the UK.
