The Coaching Inn Group doubles annual profits

The Coaching Inn Group, formerly Bulldog Hotel Group, has doubled its profits and increased turnover to over £10m in the year to March 2015.

The group's turnover has risen by 22% to £10.07m, and operating profit (before exceptional deal costs) more than doubled from £388.5k to £800k while pre-tax profit has lifted by 88% to £510k.

The Boston-headquartered business operated seven hotels in the period that achieved EBITDA of £2m, an average of £285k per site, with food and beverage accounting for 68% of revenue.

The Coaching Inn Group secured a £4.5m investment from the Commer Group in January to support its planned £20m expansion across England. The firm intends to double the number of properties in its portfolio over the next three to four years.

The group specialises in finding high quality coaching inns and revitalising their offer across food, drink and accommodation to attract tourists as well as local and business trade.

The firm now has an additional site bringing the total to 8 which are located across Yorkshire, Leicester, Lincolnshire, Northampton, Gloucestershire and County Durham.

The Coaching Inn Group was named as one of the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2015, an annual celebration of some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK.
