New GM for Clayton Hotel Chiswick ahead of £20m upgrade

Clayton Hotels has announced that Thomas Doyle has been appointed general manager of Clayton Hotel Chiswick, ahead of the completion of a £20m refurbishment and extension project at the hotel.

Doyle joins the four-star standard, 227-bedroom hotel and conference centre from Jurys Inn, where he worked his way up to becoming general manager of the company’s Islington property.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for me and an important chapter in the history of the hotel,” commented Doyle. “The completed new look will be unveiled in February 2016 when we hope local residents and businesses in the area will come and appreciate our fantastic facilities, fresh new look and welcoming feel.”

The renovation project, which began in June 2014, includes the addition of 104 bedrooms and the upgrading of existing bedrooms, a new bar and restaurant, state-of-the-art meetings and events facilities, and a lighter, more spacious reception area. The hotel has been fully operational throughout the work.

An extension and refurbishment to the hotel’s meetings and events facility gives it a dedicated area of the hotel with its own entrance and foyer, eight meeting rooms and the impressive Chiswick Ballroom, which seats up to 350 people.

Further appointments to the management team include head chef Gaurav Puri. Gaurav previously worked at Claridge’s as a sous chef. His career has also included positions at The Berkeley, The Langham London, and with the Gordon Ramsay Group.

Lukasz Klosiewicz has been appointed meetings and events manager, moving from Clayton Crown Hotel in Cricklewood.

Gaurav Dhaul becomes director of sales, joining from Grange Hotels where he was sales manager, while Lauren Cooper joins as HR manager, from Accor New Zealand.

Clayton Hotel Chiswick, formerly the Chiswick Moran Hotel, was acquired by Dalata Hotel Group as part of the £324m purchase of nine hotels from Moran Bewley’s Hotel Group in February 2015. It was rebranded with the Clayton name in May.

Clayton Hotels brand, part of Dalata Hotel Group, was launched in 2015 and consists of 13 properties across the UK and Ireland.

Clayton Hotels offer luxury accommodation at strategic city and airport hotel locations in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Galway and Wexford as well as in London (Chiswick and Islington), Leeds, Manchester and Cardiff.
