AB InBev to sell Grolsch & Peroni brands as part of SABMiller merger

AB InBev is looking to sell the Grolsch and Peroni brands as part of its merger with SABMiller, in an attempt to reduce regulatory concerns about the merger.

The company will contact potential purchasers in the coming weeks to assess their interest in the premium brands and their associated businesses in Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. AB InBev also revealed its plans to include the sale of the Meantime brand.

In October, it was announced that AB InBev would acquire SABMiller in a deal worth £70bn. The bid was agreed upon ‘in principle’ subject to regulatory approval.
