Searcys to launch meatballs & champagne concept at St Paul’s site

Following a refurbishment, Searcys will open its new urban and contemporary Italian bar-restaurant concept on 9 May, which is situated the first floor of the One New Change shopping centre, Cheapside.

The 60-cover One New Change, which can accommodate up to 120 standing guests, will offer a pick and mix system with a choice of either meatballs (beef or pork) and pasta, or meatballs and ciabatta, with topping options: sauces (pesto or tomato and pancetta). Pasta choices include paccheri or trofie, with toppings options of Gorgonzola, anchovies or smoked almonds.

There will also be lighter bites and aperitivo’s including Meatball sliders on a brioche bun, Crab & fennel salad with Sicilian orange & castel franco lettuce, and Smoked salmon ciabatta with mozzarella and artichoke.

The food offering will also be available via a street food stall, as part of the daily market on the ground floor of the shopping arena for local shoppers and workers.

The drinks menu will be created by Joel Claustre wine and champagne connoisseur, who previously won the prestigious Master of Culinary Arts (MCA), and Aurelien Durand, a cocktail expert with years of running the finest bars.

Searcys is planning to roll out the new fizz and meatballs concept to other outlets.
