Successful Exeter inn changes hands

The Old Thatch Inn in Cheriton Bishop, Exeter has been sold through Christie & Co to a new entrant into the sector.

The picturesque pub, which is located on the boundary of Dartmoor National Park, was bought by Lance and Simone Marshall. They have decided to take the leap from successful careers in catering to start a new chapter as publicans.

Having run the business together for five years, previous chef patron Andrew Burkin and his wife has now made the decision to sell up in order to relocate to Scotland.

The pub offers bed and breakfast - there are two bedrooms, and features a beer garden and restaurant.

Tristan Courtney, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Exeter office who is handling the sale, commented, “It’s great to see new, enthusiastic entrants coming into the pub sector and we wish Lance and Simone all the very best of luck in their new and exciting career.

“After a comprehensive marketing campaign we received strong interest, further illustrating an improving market with increased demand for pubs throughout the South West.”
