£895k Cheshire pub comes to market

The Holly Bush Inn in Little Leigh, Cheshire has come to the market through Fleurets, with an asking price of £895k.

Dating back to 1635, the Holly Bush Inn is one of the oldest pubs in the country. The barn and pub are both Grade II listed and whilst the premises previously operated as a working farm, the Holly Bush has operated as a privately owned public house since 1993.

Barry and Maureen Lloyd purchased the property 20 years ago, there was a small bar however the rest of the property was a working farm. The Lloyds progressively converted the premises throughout their 20 year occupancy. Three outbuildings were transformed to provide 14 modern en-suite letting rooms, and the original building was also extended, creating a 58 cover dining area.

Furthermore, the original thatched roof was restored. The Holly Bush Inn is set in just over 2.5 acres of Bartington Green Conservation area, the smallest conservation area in the Vale Royal Borough.

Lesley Watmough from Fleurets commented, “Since 1998, the couple have chosen to run the property under management. Turnover for 2016/2017 shows a consistent and healthy turnover of approximately £423k and £443k. This is a profitable business and accounts are available to seriously interested parties. I anticipate a great deal of interest for this superb business.”
