Smokestak launches new weekday lunch menu & opens terrace

With sunnier months ahead, Smokestak has announced the opening of an outdoor terrace at its Shoreditch restaurant, alongside a new seasonal weekday lunch menu set to launch on 2 May.

The sun-facing terrace runs along the entire frontage and seats up to 50 on top of the 75 covers inside. The terrace leads to the main restaurant dining area through the fully-openable floor-length glass-panelled iron doors allowing diners both inside and outside to enjoy al fresco vibes.

Alongside the terrace launch, Smokestak founder David Carter (pictured) will introduce a seasonally-inspired summer weekday lunch menu aimed at those living and working in the surrounding Shoreditch area looking for a quick, light lunch with Smokestak’s trademark wood-burned flavours.

Mains will include signature dishes Beef brisket with pickled red chili and Thick-cut pork rib with pickled cucumber, as well as new options such as Coal-roasted aubergine, feta, balsamic & spring onion, and Chicken kebab, grilled tropea onion & wild garlic tzatziki.

A selection of substantial summer salads including Grilled peach, stichelton, rocket, candied pecan & crispy bacon, and Hot smoked trout with baby spinach, walnut pickled shallots & dill sour cream, will introduce a lighter side to the menu. Side dishes such as Charred corn on the cob, smoked bone marrow, and Rosemary new potatoes with burnt garlic.

For local Shoreditch workers short on time and looking to dine ‘al desko’ rather than al fresco, the lunch menu will also be available to takeaway with ‘set menu’ offers available.

The cocktail offering has also taken a very seasonal approach with the Rhubarb Sour, Green Chilli Tommy’s Margarita, and the Peach and Thyme Spritz. Smokestak has also partnered with 40ft master-brewer Ben Ott to create their very own draught lager offering fresh, crisp, easy-drinking.

David Carter launched Smokestak onto the London street food scene in 2013, carving his way through the UK festival circuit and becoming a mainstay at many of the Street Feast sites.

Delivering simple, no-nonsense ‘cue to the masses', Smokestak has earned a cult following for its prime USDA brisket, pork and beef ribs, with David opening his first permanent restaurant on Sclater Street in Shoreditch to critical acclaim in November 2016.
