Kricket to close POP Brixton site to focus on perm Soho restaurant

Kricket is closing its original site in POP Brixton to focus on its first permanent restaurant in Soho, which opened in January this year.

The popular brand launched in June 2015 and became part of the Pop Brixton community project. With 20 covers inside and 8 covers outside, it has been serving Indian small plates and cocktails.

Co-owned by Head Chef Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell, the inaugural site received positive press and reviews including four stars from The Telegraph and Time Out. It was also voted Top 10 restaurants of 2015 by Bloomberg and awarded the Dot London Small Business Award for Best Place to Eat.

Campbell and Bowlby said that while they will be focusing their attention on the Soho restaurant for the time being, they hope to return to Brixton one day soon.

The pair are planning a Last Supper for their final day of trading at POP on Saturday 27 May, which will feature Keralan Fried Chicken, Bhel Puri, Crab Meen Moiliee and Hake with Malai sauce.
