Chikn to open second restaurant in Islington next February

Chick‘n’Sours chain's Chik'n is to open its second restaurant in London's Islington in February, and plans to expand the chain to other major cities across the country over the next four years.

Chik’n Islington will focus on a different demographic of families and late-night diners – featuring its own beer on tap.

The brand launched on London's Baker Street in July and served up around 10,000 portions of chicken in its first week.

Carl Clarke and David Wolanski launched Chik’n as a ‘guilt-free’ chicken shop and offers food made using ethically sourced ingredients and free-range chicken from Castlemead in Somerset, fired in rapeseed oil.

The brand serves breakfast lunch and dinner, with the menu featuring chicken sandwiches made up of crispy fried, buttermilk-brined chicken breasts, warm potato roll, bacon, maple syrup and chicken tender hot cakes, fried chicken potato buns and sides of Disco Wings and Tenders.
