Zizzi to open at major Reading shopping centre

Italian restaurant chain, Zizzi, is to open a new restaurant at Hammerson's The Oracle shopping complex in Reading.

Founded in 1999 in Chiswick, London, Zizzi now boasts 155 restaurants in its UK and Ireland portfolio. Renowned for its range of Italian cuisine, the brand specialises in creating an exciting restaurant environment. Due to open in November, the 3,400 sq ft restaurant will be located alongside Wagamama, Giraffe and Las Iguanas.

The Oracle has undergone improvement works recently, with the £5.7m upgrade of The Riverside marking a significant investment in the centre and delivering a dining and leisure offer that matches the retail line-up.

The addition of Zizzi strengthens this offer further, adding to the varied range of dining operators, which include Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge, Cau, Cote, Comptoir Libanais, Franco Manca, Jamie's Italian, Pizza Express and Wagamama.

Marc Ward, Group Head of Acquisitions at Azzurri Group, said, “We are delighted to have obtained representation at this important shopping and leisure destination in Reading”

Sarah Fox, Head of Restaurants and Leisure at Hammerson, commented, “Zizzi’s decision to open at The Oracle is a fantastic result. In the past couple of years we have worked proactively to increase the quantity and standard of the dining offer at the centre, including rejuvenating The Riverside and bringing in new names.

'Renowned restaurateurs such as Zizzi choosing to take space is testament to the success of that strategy.”
