The Hardwick Arms Hotel, a 1750’s former coaching inn located in Sedgefield, County Durham, has come to market through Christie & Co, with a price tag of £365k. The owners will also consider the grant of a new Free of Tie lease on terms and at a rent to be agreed.
Originally Sedgefield’s main coaching inn, the Hardwick Arms served as a stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation for stage coaches travelling from London to Edinburgh.
Today, the inn boasts a restaurant, bar and accommodation in the form of eleven well appointed, en suite letting rooms with a traditional decor throughout, which is in keeping with its past.
The current owners acquired the Hardwick Arms in February 2010 and following a major refurbishment and rebranding, the Hardwick Arms’ restaurant and accommodation were trading by the end of the year.
