Thwaites to move to £8m HQ in August

Brewery and pub operator, Thwaites is to relocate its Blackburn-based brewery business to a new £8m 12-acre headquarters in Mellor Brook in Lancashire this August.

The new Ribble Valley site will feature a new heritage centre, brewery, tap room and training facility. There will also be stables for the firm’s famous shire horses, Wainwright, Gunner and Ribble.

Head brewer Brian Yorston is overseeing the fitting out of the new brewery building, which will produce craft ales such as Nutty Black, and produce 1.5million pints a year when it’s up to full capacity.
