The teams behind Bottles & Battles and pasta pop-up Sood Family have just launched Bottles in Old Spitalfields Market, London E1.
The new two-storey site, which focuses on Italian wine and food pairings, offers a mozzarella bar, and large communal tables. There's also an open kitchen and an outdoor terrace.
The food menu complements the specific wines of each region, and serves up small shareable dishes including Ibérico pork with fermented cherries, fried oysters with hazelnut purée, and beef carpaccio with cucumber and crispy fennel.
Wine experts Franco Macini and Daniele Marano of Bottles & Battles have created the drinks menu, focusing on wines by independent producers and small farms, mainly from Italy.
