Ei Group signs Diversity in Hospitality, Travel & Leisure Charter

Ei Group, the UK’s largest pub company, is proud to have signed the Diversity in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure (HTL) Charter, part of the WiH2020 campaign, which aims to improve diversity and inclusion across these sectors.

Women in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure 2020 has been set up to support companies to commit to inclusion agendas and increase gender representation and diversity as a whole at senior level across businesses operating in these sectors.

The Charter sets out 10 action points companies are asked to commit to and encourages firms to set their own objectives and priorities within the field of diversity and inclusion, whilst sharing best practice, collaborating on joint initiatives and participating in industry-wide surveys and projects coordinated by WiH2020.

Simon Townsend, Ei Group Chief Executive, said, “I’m delighted to confirm Ei Group’s commitment to the Diversity in HTL Charter, and our determination to make a meaningful contribution to improving diversity and inclusion not just within our business, but also across the wider hospitality industry.”

The inaugural meeting of the new WiH2020 Advisory Board, which Simon Townsend recently joined, took place earlier this week. Sector leaders shared their personal motivation for supporting the WiH2020 campaign and committed to working collaboratively to progress the diversity and inclusion agenda through a series of tangible actions.

Tea Colaianni, Founder and Chair of WiH2020, added, “I am thrilled Ei Group has signed the Diversity in HTL Charter and joined the ground-breaking collaboration that is taking place across hospitality, travel and leisure in the area of diversity and inclusion. They have joined a group of pioneer companies that are determined to make a difference for the good of the sector as a whole.”
