Keltek Cornish Brewery secures Co-op deal

A Cornish-based brewery is raising a glass to a new deal to supply Co-op stores across the county.

The Keltek Cornish Brewery, based in Redruth, is supplying four of its ales to 40 of the Co-op’s food stores across Cornwall from this month.

The award-winning, family-owned brewery – which started producing ale on a 2.5 barrel micro-brewery in 1997 - will see its Magik traditional bitter; Lance golden ale; Even Keel pale ale and, King - a premium bitter, listed with the Co-op.

In a series of celebrations, Keltek Brewery was last month awarded with the SALSA Plus beer standard accreditation – a national accreditation recognised by retailers, and became a Taste of the West Gold Award winner.

Richard Heath, Managing Director, Keltek Brewery, said, “The team is raising a glass to toast to new listings with the Co-op. With it operating at the heart of local communities and its support and strong reputation for local sourcing, supplying the Co-op will provide greater awareness and reach for our brand and, support our continuing development.

'We are delighted to have an opportunity to work with the Co-op, and are confident that our ales will prove popular with both residents and visitors alike in communities across Cornwall.”

Simon Dryell, Head of Local Sourcing, Co-op, added, “Locally sourced ale is an exciting category, one where we can see continued sustainable growth as shoppers seek quality local products offering something different.

'The Co-op is committed to investing and, creating value, in its local communities. Our members and customers tell us that local produce is important to them, with provenance, quality and trust key.

'Co-op works to align to the needs of its Members and customers, and seeks to provide opportunities in order to showcase, celebrate and support great local products.”
