Honey & Smoke to introduce late night iftar feasts in May

This May, Honey & Smoke, the buzzy Middle Eastern grill restaurant in London, will be launching late night iftar feasts.

Co-founder Itamar Srulovich said, “Iftar is such a huge part of the Middle Eastern calendar so we wanted to mark this by creating our own take on the iftar menu for the London community, we always wanted our restaurant to be a welcoming place where all the different traditions that make up London can come together.”

As the sun begins to dim, the grills will be fired up and guests will be invited past the Moroccan tiled bar to the downstairs restaurant where they will be welcomed to settle in for the evening with a sweet pick up of three Madjool dates and a handful of almonds.

The table will then become full with a seasonal iftar mezze selection of flat breads, zaatar infused olive oil, hummus with tatbilla dip, aubergine and tomato salad, falafel with tahini dip, courgette, dried apricots and pistachio salad, vegetable fritters and labaneh topped with spring greens.

Mains platters will include Joojah chicken kebabs and slow cooked lamb with plums and roses (all of them halal), served alongside rice with roasted almonds, and shared by the whole table.

To finish on something sweet, guests will be able to indulge in a plethora of bite-sized atayefs, maamools and Honey & Smoke’s signature feta cheese cake, all washed down with a cup of freshly brewed Turkish coffee or Herbal Mountain tea, which will be on hand for guests to sip on throughout the feast.

Co-founder Sarit Packer commented, “Iftar is a great opportunity for friends and family to come together over a meal and a chat, so we look forward to inviting our London friends and customers to join us in the celebratory feasts this May.”

The Iftar menu will be available from 5.30pm onwards.
