UCC Coffee UK & Ireland’s roastery achieves highest BRC rating

UCC Coffee UK & Ireland, the total coffee solution provider, has been upgraded to a Grade AA rating in its latest British Retail Consortium audit – the highest possible rating.

The roastery, based in Dartford, Kent, achieved the rating following a rigorous two-day inspection. The British Retail Consortium (BRC) is the leading trade association for UK retailing, and its standards are recognised internationally as marks of quality. The grade ‘AA’ rating is awarded to sites with exceptional site standards.

Elaine Swift, regional director (North), UCC Coffee Europe, commented, “This is a significant achievement for our Dartford Coffee Roastery and validates not only our systems and procedures, but also our culture of continuous improvement.

'It’s been a challenging few months following the fire so it’s important our customers can continue to have confidence in our service and products, as well as achieving the highest-grade accreditation from the British Retail Consortium as further endorsement of our capabilities and commitment.”

In June 2019, UCC Coffee announced plans for its new and improved production facilities at its Dartford roastery. The rebuild, which is expected to complete in August 2020, will not only increase production and improve product flow, but will offer teams a new and improved, modern space and a great new facility for our visiting customers. T

he rebuild follows a £2.5m investment to the roastery in 2015, and planned investment in 2020 to increase production capacity further cementing its commitment to its customers.
