Aryzta Range scoops four wins at Great Taste Awards

Aryzta Food Solutions’ superior bakes have been recognised by some of the most demanding palates in the industry, scooping no less than four highly coveted Great Taste Awards.

More than 500 judges in the Guild of Fine Food’s search for the UK’s finest produce, awarded a selection of Aryzta's frozen sweet, savoury and vegan bakery products a coveted gold star each.

Aryzta Food Solutions’ Marketing Manager Paul Maxwell said of the wins, “There is arguably no higher accolade in our industry than that awarded by Great Taste. For four of our frozen foodservice products to have earned a star in this year’s awards is testament to the skill and understanding of today’s consumer demands that are poured into each product.”

The products were blind taste tested and rigorously judged on texture, appearance, quality of ingredients, overall presentation and above all, taste. The Aryzta Food Solutions winners are as follows:

Vegan Sausage Roll - A filling of Wheat Protein, Onion, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Garlic and Mushroom. Wrapped in a golden flaky puff pastry, with a light parsley topping. Judges commented on the products’ “wonderful homemade appearance” and “lovely herby aroma, with a good hearty bite and plenty of filling”. One judge even commented that if he hadn't been told it was vegan he would have assumed it was a meat sausage roll!

Stone Baked Gyros Chicken Pide (pictured) - A stone baked spinach pide topped with Gyros chicken, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, Greek herbs and a light touch of Eastern cayenne pepper spice. Judges called the Pide a “lovely looking artisanal product with a warm aroma of the spice on the nose”, adding: “…the whole thing delivers enormous flavour enjoyment, with good balance of seasoning and spice”.

Vegan Lemon, Chia & Pistachio Unsliced Loaf Cake - A moist vegan lemon and chia seed sponge sandwiched together with mixed fruit jam and lemon filling. Decorated with a tangy lemon icing and chopped pistachio nuts. Judges praised its “impressive size, consistent bake, and generous layer of buttercream”. Further feedback on the vegan buttercream highlighted its “buttery flavour”. In fact, judges enjoyed Aryzta’s vegan loaf cake so much that they reportedly went back in for more, post judging!

Lemon Brulee Band - A smooth set lemon flavour cream filling on a biscuit crumb base. Finished with a brulee style topping. Judges remarked that the product “looked fantastic” with a “carefully finished topping and light consistency.” Most importantly, they praised the product’s “zesty flavours and clean finish”.
