JJ Foodservice moves up eight places in Top Track 250

National wholesale group, JJ Foodservice has moved up eight places to 130th in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 list, which ranks Britain’s mid-sector private growth companies with the biggest sales.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the group has eleven UK branches, more than 800 staff and sales of £201.5m for the period ending 31 March 2018.

It supplies all food industry sectors from restaurants, pubs and hotels to schools, universities and local authorities. The business offers a wide range of fresh, chilled, ambient and frozen products, a selection of own-label lines, packaging and cleaning materials.

The Sunday Times reported: ‘Profits rose 17% to £6.9m last year thanks to strong performances from three new branches, and an Amazon-style notification system to improve customer service.’

JJ’s COO, Mushtaque Ahmed, said, “All UK businesses are facing challenges right now, from the uncertainties caused by Brexit to the impact of rising food prices. We hope that our resilience in such turbulent times helps to give caterers the confidence they need to partner with us.”

The Top Track 250 is sponsored by Grant Thornton and Lloyds Banking Group, and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
