BrewDog to launch Down Under this month

Scottish craft beer trailblazer, BrewDog, has announced the arrival of its brand-new tap room and brewery – the first on Australian soil.

Arriving in Queensland’s capital city, the independent craft beer company will open the doors to the DogTap Brisbane this month, with a new state-of-the-art brewery planned to push its first beers off the line in January 2020.

Situated on banks of the Brisbane River at Murarrie, the Brisbane tap room will be BrewDog’s 94th bar globally but only its 4th tap room attached directly to one of its breweries. It will boast 28 taps - showcasing the famed BrewDog Headliners, including the industry-shaking Punk IPA, a brew that inspired a beer revolution, and an exciting list of local guest beers.

The wine list will feature an all Aussie line-up, with a strong turnout of Australian distilleries on the spirits list and local-only soft drinks on offer as well.

BrewDog’s legendary classic menu will serve up burgers, dogs, salads and buffalo wings, alongside a bunch of small and large plates designed just for Brisbane, including Korean-style chicken wings, crispy pork cheeks, baby squid calamari and barramundi fritters.

DogTap Brisbane will also be serving up a brunch menu every weekend, featuring the BrewDog favourites including chicken & waffles, eggs benny and more.

On top of BrewDog’s core and small-batch brews, DogTap Brisbane will be pouring the best local craft beer from Range Brewing, Currumbin Valley Brewing, Balter, Aether, Brouhaha and Black Hops through the bar’s dedicated guest taps.

Showcasing and learning from Australian independent breweries is a focus for BrewDog upon launching in Brisbane, and the Scottish brewery sets out to play an active part in the burgeoning craft beer community there.

DogTap Brisbane is the first phase in BrewDog’s expansion Down Under. The brewery will be up and running in January 2020, housing a fully automated four vessel 25HL brewing system that offers flexibility across beer styles and productions.

BrewDog also has something special planned for Aussie beer fans; a barrel-ageing facility in the Brisbane brewhouse that will give the team the chance to develop an Australian-exclusive set of wood-aged wonders. They will be filling oak in January to start letting the flavours develop.

Co-founder James Watt said, “DogTap Brisbane is one of the biggest and best bars we’ve ever created, and we’re so excited to open this amazing space.

'We’ve shipped BrewDog Headliner beers to Australia for nearly ten years, but this new brewery will now give us the capacity to reach new corners of the country.

'The craft beer scene in Australia is one of the best in the world and we’re super excited to finally open our doors, join this incredible community and get freshly brewed beer into the hands of Australian beer fans!”
