New Co-op concept images releases

Central England Co-op has today released the first ever images of how its Boley Park food store in Lichfield is set to be transformed following a £3 million investment.

Subject to planning permission being granted, proposals will see the creation of a brand new store, a large unit that will house a gym and two further retail units.

The Society has its headquarters in Hermes Road, and will feature a raft of new elements including special eco-friendly fridges and lighting, free water refill station, a phone charging area and customer seating inside and outside of the store.

The proposals will also see improvements made to the car park, including wider spaces, better traffic flow and improved lighting and walkways, and to the petrol station.

If plans, which have been submitted today, are approved, work is set to start in 2020.

A spokesperson for Central England Co-operative said: “The Society is delighted to confirm plans for a £3 million investment in our Boley Park Food Store.

“Subject to planning permission being granted, based on feedback from customers and members we believe that a variety of exciting changes to the building will create an improved shopping and working environment for everyone.

“We will keep everyone up to date with the latest news via in store messaging, posters and local press announcements.

“Central England Co-op, which has its head office in the city, is proud to call Lichfield its home and these proposals showcase our desire to invest in the local area with a new, vibrant and modern shopping experience.”

The store will offer a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special.

This will include fresh and fruit and vegetables, an in-store bakery offering breads and pastries, chilled beers and wines, fresh and frozen product, Irresistible product ranges, Costa Coffee machine and a great selection of food to go.
