Youngs acquires historic house in Greenwich

Brewery and pub group, Youngs has purchased Enderby House in Greenwich, London, through Fleurets.

The acquisition of Enderby House marks Youngs’ fifth business in Greenwich. This virtual freehold is situated along the Thames Path in Greenwich’s Peninsula.

The house was built in 1846 by the Enderby whaling family, who were immortalised in the book Moby Dick.

Brendan Brammer, Young's Acquisition Manager, commented, “This historic building is where the cables for the first Transatlantic underwater communications were loaded on to Brunel’s SS Great Eastern.

'It will now be restored to former glories and reopen in summer 2020 as a premium Young’s riverside pub with two Thames side terraces overlooking Canary Wharf.”
