Aldi ramps up plant-based offer this Veganuary

With a staggering 3.5 million people expected to take part in this month's Veganuary, Aldi is growing its vegan offering. With an array of new product launches set to hit stores in the New Year, Aldi will have what you need to swap your regular favourites for a plant-based start to 2020.

The new Loma Linda Fishless Tuno, yes, fishless Tuno, will make the swap to going vegan a lot easier. Made using plant-based ingredients such as soy protein and seaweed powder, this surprisingly fishy, fish-less tuno is available in classic Tuno Mayonnaise or Tuno Spring Water. And, with only 0.7g of saturated fat per 100g, it makes the perfect fuss-free healthy swap and tastes just as good as the real thing. On sale as a Specialbuy from today.

Vegan sausage rolls were all the rage last year and things are about to get even more interesting with Aldi’s new Plant Menu Vegan Sausage Roll (99p each). Available in two tasty flavours – No Pork or BBQ Jackfruit, these meat-free sausage rolls don’t compromise on taste, texture OR satisfaction, it’s so hard to believe they’re not meat. Available in store from today as a Specialbuy.

For a hassle-free, vegan option on-the-go, Aldi’s Limited Edition Eat & Go Korean BBQ Style Chick’n Sandwich will be available to buy from 2nd January. Swap your usual for this succulent sandwich filled with chicken style pieces, smothered in a Korean style BBQ sauce and topped with pink pickled onions, vegan mayonnaise and spinach, all culminating in a Korean flavour sensation.

Alternatively, for a different spice combination, the Eat & Go Vegan Onion Bhaji with Sweet Potato & Cauliflower Wrap is packed with onion bhaji, spiced cauliflower and sweet potato purée, pickled red cabbage, mango and apricot chutney and spinach, all parcelled up in a spiced tortilla wrap. Available to buy from today.

The Inspired Cuisine Vegan Ready Meals allow you to enjoy your staple comfort foods, whilst also getting a daily dose of goodness. Available in Mushroom Bolognese and Three Bean Chilli, you’ll love the meat-free take on these winter classics.

Back by popular demand and returning to Aldi’s frozen range this year are the Plant Menu Vegan Ready Meals. Available in Smoky BBQ Jackfruit, Red Pepper & Mango Curry and Yellow Thai Curry for whatever your tastebuds fancy, these frozen favourites are both healthy and low-fuss. Available in-store until March.

The Plant Menu Vegan Pizza is the perfect plant-based alternative to the nation’s favourite fast food offering. There’s an exciting pizza topping for everyone on offer; choose from BBQ Jackfruit, Spicy Cauliflower or ‘Bacon’ & Mushroom. Meat-free but certainly not flavour-free: why not make the swap and try a plant-based twist on the Italian classic this Veganuary? Available in-store from now until March.

The Plant Menu Vegan Rosemary & Onion Sausages are meat-free sausages that resemble the real-deal in both shape, size and taste. Bursting with flavour, they’re the ideal swap for Britain’s breakfast staple. Available to buy from now until March.

Also joining the range are Aldi’s Specially Selected Vegan Parcels (£2.99 for 2), hand-made crispy vegan pastry parcels, golden on the outside and packed full of delicious roasted vegetables, herbs and spices on the inside. Available in BBQ Jackfruit and Spicy Firecracker Vegetable for the more adventurous eater, these parcels are the perfect snack or party accompaniment. Available in-store from now.

For a plant-based offering to satisfy your sweet tooth, the Leone Vegan Choc Stick (£1.49, pack of 3) is available in the creamy flavours of both classic and almond, allowing you to enjoy your must-have indulgence without any of the guilt.
