Azzurri Group brings in advisors

Azzurri Group, which employs 6,000 people in over 300 restaurants, has brought in KPMG to help find a way through the pandemic, according to the Sunday Times.

The company's brands include Zizzi, Ask Italian and Coco Di Mama, with all sites remaining closed since the PM Boris Johnson's instruction to close all restaurants across the UK on 23 March.

Steve Holmes, who heads up the hospitality group, has reportedly suspended payments to landlords and furloughed most of the firm's employees.

Azzurri Group was founded in 2014 and has become a market leader in the Italian casual dining sector.

The business recorded a pre-tax loss of £16.3m on sales of £299.4m in the year to November 2019.
