Taka Marylebone launches takeaway menu & deli collaboration

Following its recent opening, critically acclaimed restaurant Taka Marylebone has today announced the launch of ‘Taka-Way’, which will bring its creative menu, in which Japanese techniques meet local British produce, to homes across central London.

In addition, the team will also be launching Taka Deli at the Marylebone site, a Japanese-orientated deli in collaboration with the celebrated Japanese Happy Sky Bakery.

The inventive takeaway menu has been curated by executive chef Taiji Maruyama in collaboration with Head Chef Jonathan Dowling, and places importance on seasonality and local produce, with sustainability at the forefront.

Whilst placing an emphasis on local ingredients, the team also hope to make lockdown more enjoyable with their playful takes on classic dishes. The small-plates based menu runs across different sections, including Plant Based Power, Fry or Die and Arigato Sando as well as Carbohy-Greats and Rock and Rolls.

The takeaway menu consists of restaurant favourites such as Scottish Salmon Tataki; Wagyu Dripping Rice Bowl with Wagyu Fat and Sukiyaki Sauce on Sushi Rice; Nasu Dengaku and Taka Fried Chicken (TFC) Nanban, as well as the luxurious Kagoshima A5 Wagyu Sando on Happy Sky Shokupan Bread.

Alongside these, Classic Sushi Rolls, Nigiri and Sashimi and Grill favourites are also available, with a focus on the freshest ingredients. Set menus, for takeaway, which will see a selection of dishes carefully paired together, will also be available in due course.

Also on offer is a carefully curated selection of wines, spanning different regions, grapes and varieties. This includes those from England such as the light bodied, refreshing Fitz Sparkling Wine from Sussex and the 2014 Litmus Element 20 Chardonnay from Surrey, as well as a wide selection of red and white wines, plus Japanese beers such as Owa and Kirin Ichiban.

Finally, launching on 16 November, Taka Deli will be open from 9am every day. In collaboration with west London based Japanese Happy Sky Bakery, Taka Deli will serve takeaway coffee and popular Happy Sky pastries, such as Chicken Katsu Curry Balls, Mochi Sticky Rice An-Pan and Matcha Green Tea Biscuit Monster Rolls, as well as Baker's Doughnuts.

Taka-Way is now available to click and collect from the Marylebone High Street restaurant and is available for Monday-Sunday, 12pm - 3pm / 5pm - 9pm and is available for delivery from Supper, Deliveroo and UberEats within a radius of 2.5 miles.
