Topping Out has been celebrated at 3 St Peter’s Square, the new £50m building for Motel One and Staycity Aparthotel from Manchester main contractor Russell WBHO, which is earmarked for an autumn 2021 handover.
Representatives from the hotel brands joined developer Property Alliance Group and funder Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) to mark the occasion on the roof of the 20-storey new build.
The ground floor up to the 8th storey will house 328 Motel One rooms, with amenity areas at street level. Floors nine to 20 will feature 256 studio and one bedroom units for apart-hotel operator Staycity under its premium Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity brand.
It is the third Motel One built by Russell WBHO in the city centre, following completion of the 330-bed Motel One Piccadilly in London Road and the 302-room Motel One Royal Exchange in Cross Street. It is the team’s first for Staycity, which also has a 182-apartment site in Manchester’s Piccadilly.
