Minister for Rural Affairs to speak at ACS’ Rural Shop Report 2022 Parliamentary launch


DEFRA Minister for Rural Affairs Lord Benyon (pictured) has been confirmed to speak at the parliamentary launch of ACS’ Rural Shop Report 2022, taking place in the Churchill Room, House of Commons on Tuesday 25 January 2022.

The launch event will explore the findings of the report, providing a comprehensive overview of rural shops in the convenience sector and the role that they play in communities across the UK.

MP for North Devon, Selaine Saxby, has also been confirmed to speak at the launch about her work as a rural MP and retailer Rachael Hockmeyer, Spar Sleaford will talk about her experiences of running a rural petrol forecourt and shop over the past year. ACS chief executive James Lowman will outline the key findings of the report and highlight policy priorities for rural retailers.

This event provides a great opportunity for retailers to meet MPs, network with retailers and examine the changing landscape and policy priorities for the rural shop sector.
