Honest Burgers to launch vegan burger concept in January

January will see the launch of V Honest, the new entirely plant-based burger concept from award-winning group Honest Burgers. The brand will launch its first bricks and mortar restaurant at 17 Garrick Street, in Covent Garden, and will also operate from delivery-only kitchens across London.

V Honest will combine the key tenets of classic Honest Burgers - from old school hospitality to a tailored calendar of specials and collaborations - with an innovative, completely new menu of plant based burgers, sauces and sides.

The launch comes as a response to rising demand in vegan and flexitarian dining habits at Honest Burgers, which led the team to work with industry leaders to create an exciting new standalone concept centred around delicious plant-based burgers for vegans and meat-eaters alike.

The menu showcases the best in plant-based innovation, with collaborators including foraging experts Fable Food Co, zero-waste pioneers Rubies in the Rubble, and long standing friends of Honest, THIS.

V Honest will offer Honest’s most extensive vegan selection to date, with a menu combining vegan takes on the classic Honest and Tribute burgers - menu staples since the brand’s launch in 2011 - with new serves, including the Buffalo, the Pesto, the Teriyaki and the Chilli. These will be joined by limited-edition specials and collaborations with the UK’s most exciting suppliers, chefs and traders, with the first to follow in early-2022.

Each burger comes with Honest’s signature homemade rosemary salted chips as standard, an essential part of any truly Honest line-up, as well as three all-vegan, gluten free sides, including seasonal coleslaw; buffalo tenders; and pulled shiitake nuggets.

Of the launch, Honest Burgers co-founder Tom Barton said, “Since we launched our first vegan and flexitarian burgers at Honest back in 2018, we’ve seen them go from strength to strength. But we just don’t have space in our Honest Burgers kitchens to put more plant based burgers on the menu so we felt the best thing to do was to give them a home of their own.

'V Honest is that home and it gives us the chance to spend even more time developing brand new burgers, collaborations and showcasing some of the best vegan food in the country.”
