Social Pantry to open Design Restaurant next week

Social Pantry is to launch Design Restaurant at London's Chelsea Harbour's Design Museum on 14 March.

This will be Social Pantry's first restaurant and will join the group's cafes in Lavender Hill and Crane's Kitchen in Peckham.

Like the sister cafes, Design Restaurant will source from a small group of curated farmers, suppliers, and producers with a focus on sustainable farming, eating and zero waste. It will reuse potential waste from the sister cafes too.

Diners can expect modern British and Mediterranean influences celebrating seasonal organic vegetables and fruit, with minimal use of red meat and a focus on conscious consumption.

The menus will follow the seasons closely, welcoming forced rhubarb and wild garlic in March, followed by British asparagus in April before the peas, broad beans, and early salads in Spring.

Dishes will include: Nori, sea herbs with zero waste croutons, Cornish hake, braised gem, crushed potato & roe butter sauce, and Cracked farro, shaved & roasted broccoli, radish, baby cucumber & mint salad.

To finish, diners can enjoy Lemon posset, pistachio sponge cake & homemade honeycomb ice cream, and Forced rhubarb & hibiscus custard tart.

The wine list has been thoughtfully curated by Liberty Wines who share Social Pantry’s focus to help curb the effects of climate change, protect our vineyards and ensure the sustainability of the global wine industry.

It recently became the only ‘carbon neutral plus’ UK wine supplier – offsetting more emissions than the business generates to achieve a positive environmental impact.
