Bord Bia shines light on sustainable Irish F&B in new Amazon Prime series

Bord Bia (the Irish Food Board) has partnered with Amazon Prime’s ‘The Three Drinkers’ to showcase premium quality, sustainable Irish food and drink producers in their new show launching on 17 March 2022 (St Patrick’s Day).

According to latest research from Bord Bia, 72% of trade buyers highlighted that it is important to have suppliers with strong sustainability credentials and 82% of all grocery shoppers say that “Everyone needs to do their bit to make more sustainable choices[1].”

Donal Denvir, General Manager of Bord Bia UK, commented,, “Sustainability has become the most significant and widely accepted challenge facing the global food and drink industry as we move out of the pandemic.

'Ireland is renowned for quality food and drink that is sustainably produced, so we’re really excited to be able to champion some of our fantastic Irish producers as part of The Three Drinkers show.

'All producers chosen not only go to great lengths to be as sustainable as possible but have also been verified by our Origin Green programme - the world’s only national food and drink sustainability programme, enabling the industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets that respect the environment and serve local communities more effectively.”

The Three Drinkers are food and drinks experts, writers and broadcasters Helena Nicklin and Aidy Smith, joined by a diverse revolving roster of ‘third drinker’ guests.

Now in its second season, The Three Drinkers in Ireland will take a slightly different tack from the previous show, discovering some of Ireland’s oldest and most game-changing distilleries as well as taking a deeper dive into the country’s incredible food scene and showcasing some traditional activities such as bog snorkelling, cheesemaking, eel fishing and Irish dancing.
