New Deputy GM for Grand Hotel Birmingham


The Grand Hotel Birmingham, the four-star city centre venue, has announced the appointment of its new Deputy General Manager, Charlotte Horler.

She joins the hotel after three years as Deputy General Manager at New Hall Hotel & Spa. Horler has over 15 years’ experience in the hospitality sector and has served in numerous senior management roles.

Horler’s career in hospitality began at the age of 15 at Walton Hall & Walton Hotel. Following a stint in the kitchen, she realised she belonged Front of House. Horler then progressed to Food & Beverage Supervisor, Front Office Receptionist and Front of House Manager, before a role at Billesley Manor as Operations Manager. A move to London followed being appointed the Front of House Manager at The Montague on the Gardens Hotel in Bloomsbury.

From 2018, Horler served as Deputy General Manager at New Hall Hotel & Spa where she was directly responsible for hotel operations with a particular focus on Front of House and Food and Beverage, managing 78 people.

Housed in one of Birmingham’s most iconic buildings on Colmore Row, The Grand Hotel Birmingham is a Grade II* listed building. Coined the city’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’ the hotel re-opened its doors after 19 years, revealing its £50m restoration and refurbishment, to the public in May 2021.

Retaining the building’s French Renaissance exterior and Victorian Arts & Crafts features, the restoration also includes a penthouse suite with spectacular views across St Philip’s Cathedral. The hotel boasts 185 rooms and suites, Madeleine, the hotel’s glamorous cocktail bar where Afternoon Tea is served, and Isaac’s, the New York-inspired brasserie-style restaurant.
