Chick’n to relaunch as Chicken Shop with new Notting hill site

Chick’n, London’s much-loved cult chicken burger sensation, has announced that it will be relaunching this spring as Chicken Shop, with a shiny new site in Notting Hill.

In what is promising to be the most exciting fast food renaissance since triple-cooked chips, the brand has partnered with Soho House, spreading their wings to bring their hero dishes to a host of London locations.

When Carl Clarke and David Wolanski first imagined their much-loved concept in the fields of Latitude Festival, they had one simple mission in mind – to make the best fried chicken in the capital. After four years of experimenting, innovating and most importantly, crunching, they’ve teamed up with Soho House to send their uncompromising burger vision city-wide.

As their first point of call, the team will be refurbishing their six existing sites, with Baker Street and Islington relaunching on 28 April alongside their brand new Notting Hill branch. This diverse neighborhood will be the perfect spot for pushing taste-buds with globally-inspired flavours.

While this new incarnation reflect the brand’s desire to raise the bar even further, the menu will still feature crowd-pleasers such as the no-nonsense Straight Up - which sandwiches perfectly seasoned fried chicken between soft potato buns alongside fresh lettuce, buttermilk and herb mayo and pickles - or their trademark chicken tenders with sticky sichuan sauce and legendary house fries.

The team aren’t afraid of ruffling feathers either - in the best way - with some exciting new additions. For vegetarians and vegans, options include the No Way Gangnam, a spicy plant based fillet paired with gojuchang mayo and kimchi slaw, or the lighter Korean Rice Box, garnished with peppers and kimchi and finished with a lip-smacking glaze.

Thirsty diners can also choose a shake in three enticing editions, including strawberry meringue and everyone’s favourite: chocolate Coco Pops.

CEO John Nelson said, “Our aim has, and always will be to serve-up the best fried chicken in London; so a name that fits this was super important. This is where our exciting new partnership with Soho House was born.'

Co-founders Carl added, “We’re very excited about this great partnership and a tasty new name, but as always – our signature food stays the same. We make, and will continue to make, unbeatable fried Chicken. We are Chicken Shop: this is chicken and then some.'
