Superfans queue for 36 hours to be crowned Tim Hortons first London guests

Iconic Canadian restaurant, Tim Hortons has today (Canada Day) officially opened its doors in London.

The cult-favourite brand has launched its first restaurant in the capital in true Tim Hortons style, with superfans queuing from 10pm on Wednesday evening (a 36 hour wait) to be crowned the first ever guest and to get their hands on its famed food and drink.

Celebrations at the brand-new Park Royal restaurant are well underway with two guests already claiming free drinks, every day for a whole year and one lucky guest set to win a free trip to Canada. Don’t panic though… those that can’t make the launch today can still bag a freebie with the brand continuing to run a month of giveaways including free drinks and donuts.

Those in and around the city can now visit for its famed coffee, freshly baked doughnuts and tasty meals from 6am to midnight, seven days a week. The influencer and celeb favoured venue features a relaxed seating area for those wanting to dine-in, as well as a drive-thru lane for those on the go. Guests can also take away and delivery options will be available by the end of the month.

Londoners already familiar with the brand will no longer feel like they’re missing out with its best-selling items including Timbits®, Iced Capps, Freshly Baked Donuts and Tims® Crispy Chicken Sandwich all on the menu.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Commercial Officer of UK franchise, commentet, “After years of requests, the time has finally come, and we are officially open in London. We’ve had fans travelling from all over the U.K. to be here to celebrate the launch and Canada Day with us, and what a celebration it is.

“We are lucky to have a large cult following and are no strangers to early arrivals at our restaurant launches, but our winners today will go down in history as our longest queuing fans, smashing the current record holders at our Leicester opening, where a guest queued for 20 hours in November 2019.

'I’m sure people will wonder why you’d queue for that long – we’d say it’s worth it but don’t take our word for it, come down and see for yourself as we continue to celebrate our opening all month.”
