New GM for award-winning Isle of Mull hotel

Crerar Hotels is a proud place for many successful women in the hospitality industry, and newly appointed Gemma Coll is just one of them, as she takes on the role of General Manager at the award-winning Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa, adopting the new senior position within the business.

Gemma, who was formally the Assistant Manager of the iconic island hotel, has been with the company since 2021 and has over 11 years of managerial experience within the hospitality industry, both within Scotland and internationally.

Prior to joining Crerar Hotels, Gemma previously worked for some of Scotland’s biggest hotels in the business, including the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel, and the Macdonald Forrest Hills Resort. She also spent time in South Africa managing both a four-star hotel as well as luxury self-catering accommodation.

During Gemma’s time at the four-star Isle of Mull, she has overseen the operation of the hotel after a £4 million renovation which included the launch of the reimagined Driftwood Spa, and the secluded outdoor Wilderness Deck and thermal experience for guests to enjoy amongst the backdrop of the Mull wilderness.

Gemma was also an integral member of the team that earned the Craignure hotel its highly regarded 2022 Prestige Award for Scotland’s Best Country Hotel and Scotland’s Leading Boutique Hotel 20222 at the World Travel Awards.

Gemma Coll, General Manager, said: “It’s been an exciting time for the Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa, and I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of these monumental moments.
