Bird House London, the team behind West London’s favourite neighbourhood cocktail and al fresco dining venue, The Hawk’s Nest, is to open its next venture, Peckham Arches on Thursday 30 March.
Located a two-minute walk from Peckham Rye Station beneath the railway arches the 500 sq metre space will include a number of different bar and food elements as well as showcasing local artists, private events spaces, an gallery with OHSH Projects and a monthly events calendar of live music, DJ’s and more.
The venue holds up to 600 guests with inside and outside seating available, making it the perfect space for large groups, parties and private hire. Peckham Arches will be launching the various spaces and concepts to the public from 22 March.
The new neighbourhood event space will offer an array of delicious food and cocktail offerings from their heated cocktail terrace which will sit alongside an open fire kitchen and charcoal grill, an art gallery, screening room and private cocktail bar with Tannoy sound system and vinyl deck setup.
As with The Hawk’s Nest, Peckham Arches will focus on bringing a real neighbourhood and community feel to the area with a mission of gathering local businesses, artists and talent together to enjoy freshly made cocktails, food and live events. The team will be coordinating a busy roster of monthly events such as live music, quizzes, comedy nights, weekend markets and much more.
Also founded by Bird House London is the ever popular destination within Peckham Arches Skylarking, a casual neighbourhood hangout for an early evening bite to eat which offers sourdough pizzas and margarita cocktails.
Weekly events such as ‘Quiz Tuesdays’ hosted by comedian Paddy young, and ‘Live Wednesdays’ will take place alongside DJ’s and further entertainment for guests to enjoy every Friday and Saturday night. Seating for up to 200 inside and a licence until midnight it’s an ideal spot for a late-night bite or drink.
Co-Founder Frazer Timmerman shared, “We are delighted to be launching our next neighbourhood and community bar concept, Peckham Arches, in one of London’s most exciting and vibrant areas in time for a busy summer.”
Peckham Arches spans 5 railway arches and two large disused goods yards adjacent to Peckham Rye station. Concepts within the venue include ‘Skylarking’ a neighbourhood listening bar with a vintage Tannoy sound system, an art gallery in collaboration with OHSH projects, whose first in a series of planned shows, South Open, features a group of 8 emerging local artists.
The main outdoor seating area is adorned with plants and covered with a heated canopy and includes an open fire BBQ kitchen as well as a cocktail bar focussing on tequila and mezcal based drinks.
Frazer finsihed, 'With a capacity of 600 guests, we hope to offer a truly modern and unique consumer destination, with a focus on large group bookings. We have an active roster of live music, DJs, entertainment and events planned and welcome further collaborations with local creatives.”
