Storrs Hall reveal plans to open new bistro

Storrs Hall on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District will open a brand-new bistro with breath-taking lake views later this year.

The new bistro, the name of which is yet to be revealed, will be set alongside the hotel’s existing Lake Edge Restaurant, devoting the whole south-facing side of the Georgian country house to dining. It will offer an informal French bistro style menu, welcoming both guests and non-guests and serving food from lunchtime, right through to dinner.

Work has already been completed on a new and significantly larger kitchen for the hotel and there are also plans to extend the terrace just outside, to offer additional al fresco dining and make the most of its views over England’s largest lake.

Andrew Nicholson, General Manager of Storrs Hall said: “It’s an exciting time for Storrs Hall. The new kitchen is state of the art, only the third of its kind in the UK and will be much more energy efficient, as well as very cleverly designed. We’re aiming to open the doors of the new bistro around September and the extension of the terrace will follow that. We have plans for further new developments down the line too. We’re working hard to ensure that Storrs Hall continues to be one of the best places to stay in the Lake District.”

Storrs Hall is a relaxed country house hotel on the edge of Windermere, offering 28 elegant bedrooms in its Main House, six luxurious Lakeside Suites and The Boathouse – an over-water suite for two.
