Renowned chef Sven-Hanson Britt has taken up the role of Head Chef at Monica Galetti's esteemed restaurant, Mere.

Renowned chef Sven-Hanson Britt has taken on the role of head chef at Monica Galetti's Mere restaurant in London's Fitzrovia. The restaurant made the announcement on Instagram, sharing the exciting news of Britt joining the team. They also mentioned that the two chefs have been collaborating on new, inspired dishes influenced by the Pacific Islands.

Britt first gained recognition as a finalist on MasterChef: the Professionals in 2014, where Galetti served as a judge. He later clinched victory in the MasterChef: The Professionals Rematch series in 2019. This appointment comes after Britt permanently closed his own restaurant, Oxeye, located in London's Nine Elms, after less than two years of operation.

Prior to his ventures in Oxeye, Britt had notable culinary experiences, including working at the esteemed Ritz London. He is also a co-founder of Cartografie, an ethical chocolate company.

Mere, which Galetti co-owns with her husband David, opened its doors in 2017. The restaurant offers a menu that combines elements of classical French cuisine with influences from the South Pacific Islands. While Mere is recommended in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2023, it does not currently hold a Michelin star.
