Dunkin Donuts makes its return to the UK

Dunkin' Donuts, the highly popular American coffee and donut brand, has opened its first UK store in Harrow, after 20 years of having a site here.

New franchisees Ram Javia and Neil Patel will offially open the store today after a soft opening took place last Saturday.

Visitors were able to purchase a Xmas donut box in-store in preparation for the official launch on 17 December. This will see the local mayor attending, along with representatives from St Luke’s Hospice. Live entertainment and consumer promotions will also be provided.

Dunkin' Donuts announced in September this year that it would make its return to the UK. It now hopes that its first franchise agreement will see the opening of 50 new stores in Greater London and talks are also currently in place for a further 100 to open across the UK over the next five years. The next two openings will take place in Chelmsford and Cambridge early next year.

Dunkin' Donuts was founded in 1950 and now currently has more than 10,500 restaurants in 31 countries around the world, including more than 100 sites across Europe in Bulgaria, Germany, Russia and Spain.
