Aramark celebrates 28 new Healthyliving Awards for Scotland & Offshore sites

Aramark is celebrating 28 new Healthyliving Awards for its food service sites across its Scotland and Offshore business.

The awards recognise caterers who make it easier for their customers to eat healthily, by using healthier ingredients and food preparation methods, and through clear communication of their healthy eating alternatives.

Managed by NHS Health Scotland and funded by the Scottish Government, the awards judge applicants on – among other criteria – keeping the levels of saturated fat, salt and sugar in food to a minimum, and having a sales promotion and marketing strategy which supports healthier eating.

The awards were given to Aramark teams working across a wide range of sites including: Chevron in Aberdeen, Edinburgh College and AEGON UK in Edinburgh, MOD Caledonia at Rosyth and a number of BP offshore platforms.

'In working with our clients both offshore and onshore, across business and industry, education and defence, serving healthy nourishing food to our customers is integral to our success,' says Mike Ball, Managing Director for Aramark, Scotland and Offshore.

'The benefits of eating a healthy balanced diet and the direct link to wellbeing are well reported. Our customers increasingly look to us not just to provide food which tastes fantastic, but also to help educate them in making an informed choice. With a large number of our locations now holding the Healthyliving Award, our customers can be reassured of our commitment to making fresh, healthy choices accessible.'

In January this year, Aramark further boosted its services to customers and clients with the introduction of 'Healthy for Life', a new programme which combines both food & nutrition with health awareness, to provide a comprehensive employee health and wellbeing service across Aramark's UK business.
